There are many ways you can become involved with ADWAS.
You may choose to volunteer your time by becoming an advocate, work in the office, or volunteer at an event.
Volunteer Advocate:
- Assist victims during crisis calls on site at ADWAS
- Provide advocacy with an empowerment approach
Requires 50 hours of domestic violence/sexual assault training at ADWAS, and attendance at monthly volunteer advocate meetings. Must be fluent in ASL.

Child Care Provider:
On-site child care for parents receiving ADWAS services (appointments with staff, parenting classes, support groups) or attending ADWAS events.
Office Volunteer:
Help with:
- Mailings
- Filing
- Word processing
- Photocopying
- Phones
- Works closely with the Office Manager and Program Assistant
A minimum of beginning ASL preferred.
General Volunteer:
- Assist at special events by selling tickets
- Folding flyers
- Helping with decorations
- A wide range of duties and activities
