Introducing the Engaging Deaf Men Project
ADWAS (abused Deaf women’s advocacy services) is proud to share the first official PSA from the EDMP (Engaging Deaf Men Project). The PSA was created during the first Deaf men’s weekend retreat hosted by ADWAS in Nov 2013 in which the purpose of the PSA is to introduce the EDMP of Deaf men coming together as allies to ending violence against Deaf women in Washington.
EDMP Meets ADWAS Staff
ADWAS (abused Deaf women’s advocacy services) is proud to share PSA #2 from the EDMP (engaging Deaf men project). The PSA was created with interviews from several ADWAS staff along with footage from the 1st ADWAS/EDMP meet – greet on Jan 23, 2014. The purpose of the PSA and meet – greet was for the men to take the important steps towards their roles as “aspiring allies” by engaging in dialogue with ADWAS on what it means to be an ally.
ADWAS (abused Deaf women’s advocacy services) is proud to share PSA #3 from the
EDMP (engaging Deaf men project). The PSA was created with interviews from a few of the guys from the EDMP who are fathers themselves. The fathers consisted of
– Father to be
– Father with two young daughters
– Father with two teens
– Father with kids grown up
The purpose of the video was to highlight the importance in the role of men as fathers and aspiring allies to breaking the cycle of abuse in how we interact with those close to us in our lives and especially more so in how we connect with our children. Healthy Fathers result in Happy Children!
